Nota de Cata:
The estate measures two kilometers long and the 2013 2K is a blend of Malbec with 35% Cabernet Franc. The grapes were fermented separately and blended before being put into barrels and kept for almost two years without racking or anything. They selected from plots where the soils are poor and rich in calcium carbonate. The wine shows no oak whatsoever and the quite aromatic and subtle nose is dominated by violets with some blueberries too. The palate is medium-bodied with subdued chalky minerality and very good freshness with a pleasant, bittersweet finish. An impressive debut. Some 1,800 bottles produced. 92 puntos, erobertparker.com.-
Finca Beth is a family project with wines in the charge of Juan Pablo Michelini of Zorzal fame. The family has a vineyard in Altamira, a large plot of some 150 hectares, and therefore with very variable soils, planted some 12 years ago. They sell grapes, and in 2013 they started to produce small quantities of wines, 1,800 bottles in the first vintage, with the idea to produce up to 6,000 bottles of one single wine.
